I can make posts that only board members can read by posting it with a password requirement. In this way updates can go out to all members, and board discussions can remain confidential. Next I am researching how to make the blog private (that is only visible to laniakea members). I don't think this is completely necessary but I would like us to have that option.

There are several layout options for this blog. As soon as someone emails me a photo of the ruins or of the etchings/paintings I can post it. There can be one image in the header (where it says Laniakea Foundation) either next to the text or behind it. Any and all text can be changed in a matter of seconds. This is a fantastic way to keep in touch without making a static web page. As with ANY website or blog images we post can be "taken" by anyone who wants to, unless we make the images safe from downloading. I will have to look into how to do that.

Sarah great job setting up the blog. I will look for a picture of the old homestead. MTP
ReplyDeleteHow do we see other layouts?
ReplyDeleteYou can go to blogger.com and create a blog to see the layout options. There are templates to choose from. Most are white background with various colors of text. I chose the green one. There is also an orange background that is nice. Only I can change the Laniakea blog layout but if you have suggestions I can look for what you want. You can also look at other blogs to see what other people have done. Click on "blogs of note" or just google "nonprofit blog" and see what comes up. I just added a post with a link to a blog about creating a nonprofit blog.
